The CANA Zone IV Junior Water Polo Championships Day 01 and 02

The men’s FINA Championships will take place in Szombathely, Hungary from 11^th to 19^th August, and the top two countries from the boys U18 section will qualify to compete, while only the top team from the girl’s U18 category will make the trip to Serbia for the ladies’ event.

The Mzansi U18 ladies’ team showcased some impressive skills during their opening match against Zimbabwe, winning 20-7, while the men’s U18 side lost their first match to Egypt 11-3 but redeemed themselves against Zimbabwe with a 13-6 victory.

The U18 Egyptian side proved too strong for Zimbabwe, as they booked their second win of the competition with 26 goals to 4.

In the CANA Championships matches, Zimbabwe’s U18 ladies’ side claimed a well deserved victory over South Africa’s U16 team by 15 goals to 2 and secured their second win against SA’s U17s with a narrow win of 13 goals to 10.
