Gold and silver for South Africa at the FINA/airweave Swimming World Cup in Tokyo
Tokyo, Wednesday, 28th October 2015 - Mzansi’s best claimed gold and silver during the first day of the FINA/airweave Swimming World Cup’s Tokyo leg today, taking place at the Tatsumi International Swimming Center.

Cameron van der Burgh, who is currently leading the overall rankings, was quick of the block to win the 50m breaststroke title with a time of 27.18.
Van der Burgh was closely followed by SA’s Giulio Zorzi, who finished with the silver in 27.93, with the bronze medal in the event going to Ryouta Nomura in 28.04.
The final day of the FINA/airweave Swimming World Cup’s Tokyo leg tomorrow will feature Van der Burgh and Zorzi in the 100m breaststroke, while Zorzi will also take on the 50m freestyle.
