Gallagher, who recently won the Best Female Athlete of the African Games, touched the wall in 5th position in the 100m butterfly final in 59.22 and followed that performance with an 8th place finish in the 100m freestyle final in 55.29.
In the final of the 50m freestyle, Gallagher concluded 8th with a time of 25.27, while the gold in the event went to Australia’s Cate Campbell in 24.08.
Gallagher also managed an 8th place finish in the 50m butterfly heats session, clocking 26.87, alongside South Korea’s An Sehyeon, but was not able to qualify for the final of the event, finishing behind Sehyeon in the swim-off in 27.02.
Next week’s final leg of the FINA Swimming World Cup will see Chad le Clos, Douglas Erasmus, Ayrton Sweeney, Emma Chelius, Clayton Jimmie and Matthew Sates take to the water in Doha from 7th to 9th November 2019.
