Learn to swim lessons can only take place in areas where there are facilities. Swimming South Africa is running learn to swim lessons in partnership with the Department of Education which has the natural masses.
Learners are accompanied to the pool during life orientation or the physical is education lessons by both the educator and the instructors. Instructors conduct their lessons and just before the end of the lesson the learners are accompanied back to school. The children are expected to be in the programme for two full seasons to ensure that they have acquired the skill.
Water safety education serves as the base for all the programs including learn to swim before every Programme there will be a waters safety talk.
It is essential that as many adults as possible receive water safety education as it is crucial to change parents mind set about aquatics and this premise will make easier for children to be keen on taking part in aquatics.
