Day 07 of the 18th FINA World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea
Gwangju, Friday, 19th July 2019 - The South African men’s Water Polo team fell short as they were defeated by Hungary in the final group game of the tournament at the 18th FINA World Championships in Gwangju, South Korea, today.

Hungary claimed victory by 23 goals to 5.

The SA team scored through two goals from Nardus Badenhorst as well as one goal each for Captain Etienne le Roux, Jason Evezard and Nicholas Rodda.

Hungary netted through Gergo Zalanki (five), Krisztian Manhercz (three), Szilard Jansik (three), Daniel Angyal (two), Marton Vamos (two), Tamas Sedlmayer (two), Bence Batori (two), Balazs Harai (two), Tamas Mezei (one) and Zoltan Pohl (one).

SA concluded the group stages in 3rd position in Pool C and will now be facing Germany in the Elimination Rounds on Sunday, 21st July 2019. 

The ladies’ National team will play against South Korea tomorrow in one of the 13-16 Classification matches.
