Day 04 of the SA Level 3 National Age Group Swimming Championships
Port Elizabeth, Monday, 21st March 2016 - The records continued to tumble during the fourth day of the SA Level 3 National Age Group Swimming Championships, taking place at the Newton Park Swimming Pool in Port Elizabeth.

Olivia Nel (13) broke Rebecca Meder’s 2015 Age Group record in the 50m freestyle, clocking 26.94 to the old time of 27.28.

Nel also won silver in the 50m backstroke in 31.16.

There was no stopping KZN’s Luca Holtzhausen (12) as he once again bagged three gold medals in the 200m individual medley in 2:21.39, the 50m freestyle in 27.15 and the 50m backstroke in 30.28.

In the 800m freestyle and 200m individual medley, Rebecca Meder was once again on top in 9:11.89 and 2:24.85 respectively, while later on in the evening, the 13 year old also claimed bronze in the 50m freestyle in 27.91.

Zane Wadelle (18) was victorious on two occasions in the 50m backstroke in 26.05 and the 50m freestyle in 23.10, while Kiara Noades (14) took the gold in the 50m backstroke in 31.46 and the silver in the 800m freestyle in 9:17.98.

Zane Waddell (18) was more than happy with his two gold medals tonight, clocking 24.79 in the 50m butterfly and 51.19 in the 100m freestyle.

The SA Level 3 National Age Group Swimming Championships concludes tomorrow with the heats session starting at 08h30 and the finals at 15h00.
