Bloemfontein, Monday, 3rd October 2016 - Swimming South Africa, in partnership with the Free State Provincial Government and Mangaung Municipality will play host to the Confederation Africaine de Natation Amateur (CANA) 12th African Swimming Championships from 16th to 23rd October 2016 at the Stadium Swimming Pool in Bloemfontein.

Groot Marico is a hamlet in the North West Province where locals invite the Open Water swimming fraternity to experience the Marico Bosveld, home of Oom Schalk Lourens’ stories and the Mecca of Mampoer.
