Samoa, Wednesday, 9th September 2015 – Three silver and three bronze medals for the South African swimming team during the third day’s finals of the Commonwealth Youth Games in Samoa today.

Kaylene Corbett and Nathania van Niekerk both took the second spot on the medal podium in their respective races. 
Corbett finished with the silver in the 50m breaststroke, touching the wall in 32.95, while Van Niekerk’s time of 2:13.00 saw her take the second place in the 200m backstroke.
It was silver for James Isemonger in the 50m breaststroke in 29.20, behind Malaysia’s Fu Kang Wong and ahead of Scotland’s Kieran Preston.


In the 100m butterfly, it was Brendan Levy who ended with the bronze in 54.90, while Zane Waddell came in 7th in 55.90.
Neil Fair was more than happy with his bronze medal in the 200m backstroke, finishing with a time of 2:03.90, while Australia’s Tristan Ludlow won the gold and Northern Ireland’s Conor Ferguson the silver.
The quartet of Waddell, Levy, Fair and Isemonger grabbed the bronze medal in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay, clocking 3:33.00, while the ladies managed a 5th place finish.
In other results, Erin Gallagher finished 4th in the 100m butterfly with a time of 1:00.90.
