4th FINA Women's Youth Water Polo Championships in Belgrade, Serbia from 27th August to 2nd September 2018
The South African Junior Water Polo team took to the water in the 4th FINA Woman’s Youth Water Polo Championships, which took place in Belgrade, Serbia from 27th August to 2nd September 2018.

The U18 team played in one of the toughest groups in the competition and went up against the Netherlands, Russia and New Zealand.

They opened their campaign with a 18-3 defeat to the Netherlands in their Group D match and later went down 23-1 to Russia.

In their final group game, Mzansi’s girls were defeated 11-5 by New Zealand.

In the eliminatory stage of the Championships, the team narrowly lost to Brazil by 10 goals to 7 but came back strong in their last game of the event, winning 11-8 against Argentina to finish in 14th place overall ahead of Serbia in 15th and Argentina in 16th.
