Technical Officials

Purpose

This training programme is aimed at developing people at Club Level to assist at any a local, national and or international competition or gala as timekeepers, judges and referees.

Pre-requisite

Participants must be registered members of SSA and be actively involved in their clubs and must be 16+ years of age.

Course Enrollment

Candidates must contact their Provincial Liaison Officer in their area to make an appointment for their course enrollment. Upon enrollment candidates must produce their:

  • A certified copy of their ID
  • Two ID size photo’s (colour)
  • Course Fee of R250.00
  • Proof of SSA registration (reg. no or letter from club Chairman)

Candidates will be presented with a Technical Officials manual.

Duration

2 x Day training program from 08:00 – 16:30.
Consult your Provincial Liaison Officer for Scheduled dates.

Assessment

Assessments will be carried out on the 2 x day training. Types of assessment:

  • Practical (e.g. How to handle a stop watch)
  • Theory (e.g. Multiple choice questionnaire)

Candidates will have to make themselves available to participate at as many gala’s as possible as part of their practical training.

Certification

Once all course requirements have been successfully completed candidates will be awarded with a certificate.

Registration

Officials are required to register with SSA annually, through their Provincial Association.
